The Griffin Co X Series folding knife is the result of a focused collaboration between designer Keith Griffin and Bestech — one of the most respected production knife manufacturers in the industry. Furthermore, every detail of the X Series reflects Griffin’s background in purposeful EDC design. The result is a folder that carries slim, opens fast, and locks up solid at a price point well below full custom.

Griffin Co X Series Blade Steel — CPM MagnaCut

The Griffin Co X Series folding knife blade is ground from CPM MagnaCut — one of the most well-rounded stainless tool steels available today. MagnaCut was specifically engineered to outperform traditional stainless steels in edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance simultaneously. As a result, you get a blade that holds an edge through hard use, resists chipping under lateral stress, and shrugs off moisture without staining. The 3.5″ drop point is hollow ground for a thin, slicey geometry behind the edge and finished in a black wash that reduces glare and adds a clean tactical aesthetic.

X Series Bolster Lock with Stainless Steel Insert

The X Series uses a bolster lock — a frame lock variant where the locking bar is integrated into the bolster rather than the full handle. In addition, a stainless steel insert is fitted where the lock bar contacts the blade tang. Consequently, the lockup is harder, more wear-resistant, and more consistent over time compared to a standard titanium-on-steel frame lock. The bolster itself is titanium with a black wash finish that matches the blade perfectly.

Griffin Co X Series Action and Deployment

Deployment on the Griffin Co X Series knife is handled by a front flipper tab that sits flush when closed and presents naturally to your index finger for a fast, repeatable opening stroke. Ceramic bearings in the pivot make the action exceptionally smooth right out of the box. The detent is steel, which provides a positive snap and solid blade retention when closed. Moreover, the titanium T8 hardware and titanium back spacer keep overall weight to just 3.375 oz despite the substantial 8.375″ overall length when open.

Two Scale Sets Included

This X Series listing includes the knife with OD green G10 scales installed and an additional set of black G10 scales in the box. Both sets use the same screw pattern, so swapping takes less than a minute. The hidden lanyard slot in the handle gives you a cord attachment option without adding bulk to the profile. Carry is handled by a milled titanium tip-up pocket clip in right hand configuration.
